Materials and Training...

Work with Words is a versatile programme that is being used in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Children learn to read, write and spell with success and confidence. The programme is well structured, cumulative and multi-sensory, and has also proved very effective with dyslexic children and older children who are having difficulty with reading and writing confidently.

Work With Words provides teachers with a pathway to synthetic phonics. It links the sound patterns of our language to the printed word. It develops reading skills without memorising hundreds of words, by successfully linking the children's own language to print so they can read, write and spell as well as they can talk. Resources and strategies have been tried and tested and are in line with the governments policy for the development of synthetics phonics.

Work With Words gives teachers the confidence to implement a synthetic phonic approach in the teaching of reading using many materials that already exist in school and to fast track you to use the materials available from DFES.
